Global Warming- global warming is the warming of the earth because of all the emission of gases that trap the sun's heat in the Earth's atmosphere.
offshore drilling- Off sure drilling is when we go out and start drilling for oil or gas in an ocean, gulf, or sea.
Nuclear weapons- a nuclear weapon is one of the deadliest weapons ever made. This weapon has the ability to wipe out a heavily populated city with in seconds destroy anything and everything in its path.

I think that global warming is becoming a big problem in the world and we need to do something about it. Offshore drilling might be a good idea to lower gas prices but with today’s economy there is no way we can afford it now and that we shouldn’t start offshore drilling any time soon. Nuclear weapons play a huge part in today’s world just think at any second a Nuke can be dropped any where in the world by any country. This is very dangerous but most country’s have nuclear weapons for self defense as we do and will not fire them unless some one else fires on them.

The canidates view on Technology

Today’s world is going into a new era of technology. Technology is apart of our everyday life and we will need a president that can suit our needs and knows how to use technology. From my reading I have concluded a lot.
Obama is a young individual with more experience than McCain because of his age. McCain doesn’t know how to check his own email. Obama has said that if he becomes president that he will appoint technology Cabinet-level chief technology officer. Obama also thinks that we need to have government information available online, and he also promotes the use of bogs, wikis, and other social networking websites to keep the public caught up with current events. McCain wants to ban all internet taxes because he believes that they threaten the economic growth.

Political Cartoon #1

Very often candidates want to get the vote of working class people by appearing as a man of the people themselves. For example there is a working class guy putting up a sign of McCain on his ram shack. This shows how this poor guy who seems like he works for a living is for McCain because this guy might think McCain is a man of the people. However, the cartoon also shows a lady saying that if McCain is such a regular man of the people how come he owns so many houses and we only have two. This shows how in the past McCain was asked how many houses he owns but he didn’t know. Therefore if McCain is such a regular person then why does he have so many houses while this couple only has an out house and a ram shack?

Political Cartoon #2

These past years the economy is starting to make a big impact on the United States. For example there is a huge hurricane with the words market crisis on it heading for the United States. This shows us that the market crisis is getting very big and is going to affect us soon. However at the bottom it also says the next big one. Unfortunately this shows that the next big thing that might be affecting the United States in the near future will be the market crisis and we need to do something about it. The economy is coming to a great downfall and it is going to start impacting the lives of people in the United States.

Issues and truths of the 2008 election are all heavily out weighted by smear politics. For example there is a huge cannon with the words smear politics in the cartoon.

This shows us that smear politics play a big part in this year’s election. Smear politics are half truths and half lies that are used to cover up important issues. Another example of smear politics in this cartoon is when reporter says, “Here at the American political super-collider scientists are confident they will be able to create anti-matter or at least something lacking any substance what so ever.” This further supports how the presidential campaign is being run and shows how the campaign and anti-matter have no substance. In conclusion this campaign is all about using smear tactics to cover up the truth about important issues so that there's no real substance to the political debate taking place.

Today’s economy is failing and we need to do something about it but what we do won’t affect our lives but our children’s. For example there are bags of money that say bailout and deficits falling down. This shows how soon there is going to be another big problem dropped on us like higher taxes. However you also see a baby under the bags holding a blanket saying future generation. Unfortunately this means that the big impact of the bailout plan wont effect us but it will affect the next generation. The downfall of the economy will not affect us as much as the next generation.

Political Cartoon #5

Even though gas prices are going up food and utility prices are also soaring but wages are going down. In this cartoon there are four guys running in a race. In the front there are three guys wearing shirts that say utilities, food, and gas. Then there is one guy in the very back that is loosing the race. His shirt says wages. This shows how gas, food and utility prices are getting higher and that wages are not getting higher. However at the bottom of this picture it says $100 dash. By seeing this you can infer that the race might be about what will raise to over a hundred dollars first. In conclusion this cartoon shows how gas, food and utility prices are raising fast but peoples wages are dropping or staying the same.

The election is now over and we have a new president. In this cartoon you see Obama spinning the globe on his finger. This can show us that the Obama has the whole world at his finger tips. However you also see that he is wearing a jersey with the letter USA. This can also show us that Obama is for USA and the people are going to have to accept the new change. In conclusion you can see that our new president is Obama and that the United States is going to be turning around soon.

Reflection: Applying the Essential Question to the Political Cartoon

Over this past year the election has mad many changes to the nation. In the beginning of the election McCain was very popular. Then we ran into some problems like the big market crisis and then people began to wonder on what is going to happen if this bail out plan passes. soon Obama became popular and won as our nations president. The society changes the individual and the individual changes the society. How well first off even though obama won about have the country voted for McCain. All those voters are going to have to accept there loss. Now all those who voted for Obama changed the society by opening up a lot more doors and opportunities not just for African Americans but for all minorities.

After a while I started to think how my teachers feel about this year’s election. So I went out and interviewed my chemistry teacher.

Who will win

In math class this week we are going to try and predict the outcome in which a state will go. We had the option to choose our own state so I decided to choose Kentucky. I have chosen Kentucky because I was born in that state and I would like to follow the state. This state usually goes toward the republican and I have a feeling that it will go the same way this year.

After looking at the data is seems that McCain has won the state so far. But McCain's trend of votes is going down and Obama's trend of votes are going up so if Obama had more time he could have possibly won this state over.

Political Cartoon Republican

John McCain and Sara Palin are the two republican candidates. They do not disagree on a lot but they do disagree on gay marriage and universal health care. They support a lot of things like the right to carry firearms and the war in Iraq. They also support the death penalty but only for certain crimes.
